Trunk Stabilization

Core strength or core stabilization are terms of working the muscles of the abdomen, back and trunk to improve postural alignment. Core strength contributes to proper body mechanics necessary for avoiding back strain that make occur in work, daily chores, recreation or sports.

Here at Steven Stratton Physical Therapy we will help to increase core strength by developing an individualized exercise program that targets the muscles of the spine and pelvis. Each individual's targeted program will be created to meet their own short-term or long-term goals. This targeted exercise program will benefit postural alignment, trunk strength, and body awareness leading to reduced back strain and improved flexibility.
